EGO Power+ SNT2416 24-Inch Self-Propelled 2-Stage XP (2× 10Ah) Review

EGO's most fully loaded cordless two-stage: trigger-controlled steering, heated grips, and two 10Ah batteries — features and runtime no other EGO snow kit offers.

EGO Power+ SNT2416 24-Inch Self-Propelled 2-Stage XP (2× 10Ah)

The verdict

The SNT2405 proved a complete-kit EGO two-stage could replace a gas machine; the SNT2416 is what EGO builds when price stops being the constraint. It's the same 24-inch steel-auger architecture with two additions no other EGO snow kit has: trigger-controlled steering that takes the muscle out of turning a self-propelled machine, and heated handle grips. The kit ships with two 56V 10.0Ah batteries — roughly 50% more capacity than the SNT2405's 7.5Ah packs — for meaningfully longer runtime per charge. None of that is cheap, and the clearing width and intake are identical to the SNT2405's, but for an EGO buyer who wants the platform's best-equipped two-stage without a la carte battery shopping, this is it.

What we like

  • +Trigger-controlled steering — the only EGO two-stage in this catalog that steers instead of requiring you to muscle it through turns
  • +Heated handle grips, a comfort feature none of the catalog's other EGO snow blowers include
  • +Two 56V 10.0Ah batteries included (~1,120 Wh) — more capacity than any other EGO snow kit here
  • +Same proven 24-inch steel two-stage architecture as the SNT2405: 20-inch intake, self-propelled with reverse, up to ~50 ft throw (mfr)
  • +2-in-1 electronic chute control and dual-port charger included

What to know

  • −The most expensive product in this catalog, gas or battery
  • −Same 24-inch width and 20-inch intake as the cheaper SNT2405 — the premium buys steering and comfort, not more clearing capacity
  • −Larger 10Ah batteries add noticeable weight over the SNT2405's 7.5Ah packs
  • −Runtime claims assume typical snow; heavy, wet storms and plow piles will draw the packs down faster

Full review

EGO's SNT2405 answered the question of whether a turnkey battery two-stage kit could stand in for a gas machine. The SNT2416 asks a different one: what does EGO's best two-stage look like once price isn't the limit? The mechanical core is unchanged — a 24-inch steel-auger two-stage housing with a 20-inch intake, self-propelled with reverse, and a claimed 50-foot throw, the same formula behind the SNT2405 and the tool-only SNT2800 — but EGO adds two features that show up nowhere else in its cordless snow lineup: trigger-controlled steering and heated handle grips.

Trigger steering is the bigger deal of the two. Every gas two-stage in this catalog under the Ariens/Husqvarna 200-series tier — including the Husqvarna ST 124, this catalog's two-stage 'Best Overall' — makes you muscle the machine through turns; EGO's own SNT2405 and SNT2800 are no different. A trigger-steering system lets one hand disengage a wheel's drive to pivot the machine, the same idea gas makers reserve for their premium models. Paired with heated grips — a feature SENIX's STX6-H single-stage pioneered in this catalog but no EGO product has offered — the SNT2416 is built for the same pre-dawn, cold-morning sessions as every other battery machine here, with two genuine comfort and control upgrades.

The two 56V 10.0Ah batteries in the box are worth calling out on their own: at roughly 1,120 watt-hours combined, it's the largest battery kit of any snow blower in this catalog, EGO or otherwise, and should meaningfully outlast the SNT2405's 7.5Ah packs on a long driveway. All of that comes at the highest price in the catalog, gas included — for most two-car driveways, the SNT2405 remains the smarter buy. The SNT2416 is for the buyer who wants EGO's best without assembling it themselves, or who values steering and heated grips enough to pay for them directly.

Best for: Two-car and gravel driveways in regular heavy snow, for EGO buyers who want the platform's most capable, best-equipped two-stage kit and don't mind paying a premium for it.
